What changed recently
This page lists what changed in SBDMS in the latest releases, newest first. It is for everyone who uses the system: health workers, site admins and office staff. Each item is one or two sentences; follow the link for the full rule.
3 October 2026
Section titled “3 October 2026”These change where things are on screen.
- A shorter header. On a computer the header shows only Dashboard, Participants and Admin ▾ (Core Data ▾ for a GeneralUser). Prashan Mode, Org Mode, Scan QR Code (the Submit QR Data page) and Offline mode now sit at the top of that dropdown under a Prashan heading, above the admin pages. Without a network the dropdown still opens: Prashan Mode works and the other entries are greyed out. On a phone or tablet, ☰ lists Dashboard, Participants, the Prashan group, then the admin pages. See Finding your way around.
- Offline mode is a menu item. The Offline Prashan strip is gone from the dashboard, the camp-day screen and Prashan Mode. Open Admin ▾ → Offline mode (or ☰ → Offline mode) for the same explanation, the What to do box and, when the device can be prepared, the Prepare for Offline button. From Prashan Mode, tap Full site first. See Working offline.
- Camp Days shows one camp site at a time. A camp-site picker on the Active Camp Days row replaces the Site column. Dates read like
7th Jestha 2083 [21st May, 2026], with the full start and end times underneath, and a camp day over several dates shows the range. See Camp days. - Dose Preparations too. The same picker sits above the list and the Camp Site column is gone. The Camp Day column uses the same long date. The site you pick on either page, or in the dashboard’s Switch Location, is remembered on this device for both pages. See Dose preparations.
- Dashboard. Select Session (Camp Day) uses the long date, for example
Upcoming · 7th Jestha 2083 [21st May, 2026] · Scheduled. A card shows only when your role can open the page it leads to, so GeneralUsers no longer see Reports (and opening a reports address takes them back to the dashboard). The whole Dosage Info card is now one link: to the batch when the chosen day has exactly one, otherwise to the dose preparations list. See Finding your way around.
2 October 2026
Section titled “2 October 2026”Dosing on a Prashan day
Section titled “Dosing on a Prashan day”- A camp day needs a batch before anyone can dose. A dose is recorded only with a batch (dose preparation) that is attached to that camp day. With one batch it is used automatically. With several, the health worker picks one. With none, the screens say so and nothing can be recorded. See Step 2: Giving the dose and Camp days.
- One dose per child per camp day, even on a bad connection. If the same dose is sent twice, for example a retry after the network dropped or a colleague finishing the same child on a second device, the system keeps the first dose and the screen shows the child as Already dosed. A child already dosed that day can no longer also be recorded as screened out or Not dosed. See Step 2: Giving the dose.
- Dosing works on today’s camp day. The Prashan Day page, Prashan Mode and Org Mode pick only a camp day that is Scheduled or Ongoing with today between its start and end dates. A Completed camp day, and one that has not started yet, refuse doses on all three. Prashan Mode now finds a camp day that runs over several days on each of those days, and Org Mode offers only today’s camp day instead of the most recent one. See A Prashan day, start to finish and Closing the day.
- Age limits. A child under 12 months cannot be dosed, and nobody can override that. A child older than the top age band can be dosed only after the health worker ticks the over-age box and writes a reason. See Step 1: Screening.
- Paper doses on the child’s profile. A paper dose cannot be dated within the child’s first 12 months, in the future, or before the date of birth. The Paper Doses window shows the earliest date allowed. See A child’s profile.
- Names in English letters. Child and guardian names must be typed in English letters (A to Z) when registering, verifying, adding a child and editing a profile. Names already saved in Nepali letters stay as they are until someone edits them. See How registration works.
Camp days, batches and reference data
Section titled “Camp days, batches and reference data”These are for site admins and office staff.
- Moving a camp day to another camp site. It is refused once the camp day has dosing sessions. Before that, batches from the old site are taken off the camp day. See Camp days.
- Restoring a deleted camp day brings back the status it had before it was deleted. A Completed day stays Completed, so it cannot be reopened for dosing by accident. See Camp days.
- A LocationAdmin can add themself as personnel on a camp day at their own site. See Camp days.
- Batch codes (DBC) are never reused, even after a preparation is deleted. The month in the code follows Nepal time. See Dose preparations.
- Dose rules are checked when saved. Each rule must cover at least one month of age, give at least one drop, and not overlap another rule. See Reference data.
- Exclusion criteria have Nepali names. The Prashan page shows them in Nepali when the language is set to Nepali or both. Admins can change the wording under Admin → Exclusion Criteria. See Reference data.
Schools and children’s homes
Section titled “Schools and children’s homes”- Import only the new now adds just the new children, and Org Mode lists every child from every import of that organisation, each child once. Before, children from earlier imports disappeared from Org Mode. See Schools and children’s homes.
Reports and times
Section titled “Reports and times”- Nepal time everywhere. Times on profile remarks, medical-history entries and the camp-day change history are shown in Nepal time. They used to appear 5 hours 45 minutes early.
- Advanced export dates. Registered On and Last Dose Date are Nepal dates, so a child registered or dosed between midnight and 05:45 is no longer shown on the previous day. See Data exports.
- Medical-history chart. On the camp-day report, the medical-history charts count conditions ticked at registration and conditions ticked at screening. See Camp day report.
Offline mode
Section titled “Offline mode”- Offline mode is now available on the live system. It stays hidden at a camp site until a SuperAdmin or GeneralAdmin switches it on for that site. See Working offline.
